Steven A. Frowine is a professional horticulturalist, a consultant to the green industry, and an active garden writer and speaker. He has tended orchids at the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Hawaii and at the Missouri Botanical Garden, where he managed one of the largest orchid collections in the United Statesover 10,000 plants. A passionate grower of orchids for almost 40 years, Stevens basement is filled with propagation tanks and stands of plants under grow lights. He is president of his own horticultural consulting company, The Great Plant Company, and vice-president of the Connecticut Orchid Society. Steven has written for several publications including Fine Gardening, American Nurseryman, Nursery Business, and National Gardening. Steven is a much sought-after speaker and has given lectures at Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, the New York Botanical Garden, and the Chicago Botanical Garden. He is the author of "Fragrant Orchids" and "Miniature Orchids".
